Children’s Valentine Day Party

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, so it is a great way for children to show their affection in a sweet and innocent way and have lots of fun doing so too. Plan a Valentine’s Day party for your kids and it will go down as one of the best in the neighborhood.

The most important thing to remember is the theme of the Valentine’s Day party. Have lots of Valentine themed cut outs to decorate the party area. Get your kids involved by asking them to help in the cutting out of paper hearts using colorful and bright paper. This is a good way to show that it is their party and they must take active part in the preparation.

One of the best aspects of a Valentine’s Day party is for children to actually invite their valentine as well to the party. You can request on the invitation that parents bring along valentines for the other children who are coming to the party. This way children will come with valentines for each other. But this requires ample time to make up the guest lists and for RSVPs to come back.

Another option is to have valentines ready for all the children to decorate. This can be a great part of the party because the children know who is there and how many they have to make. The downside is it might be too tedious for the children to finish all the valentines. So assign one child to make one valentine. You don’t even have to put names on them. Put all the valentines made by the children into a hat or box. Children can draw numbers and get valentines made by someone else. Or assign partners to children and have them do valentines for each other.

Another option would be to prepare some ready-made valentines so that children can write names on the envelopes and give them out.

Treats are important in any party. You can make heart shaped treats, healthy and non-healthy ones as well. Children can help to frost cookies or make attractive treats.

Making friendship bracelets for each other is another fun option at a Valentine’s Day party. This is important as it emphasizes that Valentine’s Day is all about love and caring for one another. Making the friendship bracelet together is a great art project because there are so many types of bracelets to be made. Encourage the children to exchange them with their friends as a token of their friendship. In addition, dressing up teddy bears or dolls might be fun for some girls. Learning some dance moves add much to the festivity. At the end of the day, it’s the caring and sharing, which will bring out the importance of Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day Proposals

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Are you thinking of proposing this Valentine’s Day? If so, here are a few things you need to know.

A proposal should be done privately, just between the two of you. Yes, you see people on the news proposing in front of thousands of people or maybe a friend proposed in front of dinner guests at some sort of gathering. Occasionally you might catch someone proposing at a restaurant or some other public place. But it’s not a good thing.

The reason you shouldn’t do this is because it’s not fair to the person you’re proposing to. She will not feel free to say “no”, if in fact she isn’t ready for marriage. Or maybe she needs time to think about the question. She’ll feel rushed into an answer that may not be correct. You don’t want her to marry you just because she felt pressured into it; it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Start your new life together on the right foot.

If you still think you need to include friends and family, you can throw an engagement party after she says “yes”, and both of you can announce the good news together.

Here are a few romantic ideas for popping the question:

Have an indoor picnic complete with picnic blanket, basket and fresh summer flowers. Fill the basket with all sorts of picnic foods and the ring box. When she starts taking food out of the basket, she will come across the ring box and bam, you can pop the question.

Weather permitting, you can go for a walk to a secluded area and when you sit down for a rest, pull the ring from you pocket, get on one knee and ask your love to marry you.

Make a romantic dinner for two. Use roses, candles, soft music, wine glasses and nice dishes to decorate. If you’re not a good cook, buy dinner for two and put it on your own dishes at home. Propose to her during dinner.

Plan an evening out, do anything from dinner, dancing, go to a show or go for a drive. Because it’s Valentine’s Day, add things to your evening like flowers and other Valentine’s Day things. Then when the evening is over, pull the ring out and pop the question.

Go for wine tasting and a tour at a winery. Buy a bottle of wine and when sharing it together give her the ring box to open. Ask her or have a note or poem in the box with the ring asking her to marry you.

Plan a romantic weekend getaway and propose when the moment feels right.

Whichever way you choose to propose, make it heartfelt and have fun. After all, you will be spending the rest of your lives together.

Congratulations and I hope you have a long and happy marriage.

Give Valentine’s Day Gifts That Come From The Heart

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is not just about romancing, wining and dining. It is also about sharing what is in your heart. Whether this is just fond affection or it is undying love, express it and you are going to make a very big impression this February 14.

The key to deciding on the perfect Valentine gift for both ladies and men lies in letting your true feelings be known. Find a gift or even make one that shows how you feel and you are not going to be disappointed with the results. If you are worried that your feelings are a little corny, too gushy and mushy or maybe even a little too steamy, relax. Just blend them carefully with the sweet and traditional and your gift is going to be a hit. You cannot go wrong when you share how you feel, especially if you suspect your sweetheart feels the same way.

Expressing Strong Attraction

If you are gaga over your sweetheart and the feeling is reciprocated, but love is not in the air as of yet, there are some great ideas for you. These ideas are for couples that have taken contact to the next level or intend to soon. Let your lady or man know you think they are hot and even get engines revving with saucy gift baskets that include items for private fun behind closed doors. Gourmet chocolates and massage oils do make an incredible combination. When they are complemented with the perfect card and the right words, romance should run high.

Sharing Fond Affections

If you and your sweetheart are still in the beginning stages of romance, professing undying love probably is not in order. Sharing your feeling of strong affection is more than appropriate. Romantic presents that are classy, sweet and enjoyable are perfect in this situation. Give her flowers or a gift basket that is overflowing with delectable, imported chocolates and even a cute plush animal. Give him a heartfelt card and a present that appeals to his sweet or sophisticated side. Upscale liquor mixes, gourmet appetizers and even a cuddly plush that shows him how sweet you think he is can provide the perfect touch.

Bubbling With Love

If love is in the air and passions are high, select the perfect gift to show him or her exactly how you feel. When it comes to giving to the ladies, upscale gift baskets with gourmet treasures and jewelry inside and cards that profess true feelings are all spectacular. For the guys, think classy with just a little touch of sass or sweetness. Gourmet gift baskets with cute plush animals inside that say what is on your mind prove ideal. So, too, do gifts that appeal to his personal hobbies and interests. If you still feel compelled to say more with your gift, personalize the card carefully, write him or her a poem or select a special song to dance to on Valentine night.

Selecting a great Valentine’s Day gift is not necessarily an easy undertaking. If you match your gift with what is in your heart, your choice will not fail to shine.
